As a judge, I′ll tell you something. You can fold even an elephant—if the work is worthy, it will get bonus points. But a bad horse, in this case, will lose to a bad dog...

More precisely, here′s how. You have (had) the option to upload three images. As a variation, one of them could be a horse or something else. But first, a nice, beautiful dog. :)

As someone who folded a not so good horse I thought of putting a photo of the dog base for a moment but since the rules say ″Each model should be photographed from at least three angles″ I understood only finished pictures are allowed so I just went with the final model .

I knew turning it into a horse was a risky move and I might play myself by doing so. Let′s just hope the other models will save me

I′ll say this. Perhaps it will be useful to you and other participants in the future. When I fold for fun, I can do whatever I want. But if I′m competing in the Olympics, besides having fun, I also want to win. I′ve succeeded in this a couple of times, so I have experience. In this case, I would do the following. I′d fold a dog. I′d photograph it from three angles. The main angle would be a separate photo. I′d combine the other two into a single image. Then I′d transform the model into a horse, or better yet, fold it from the same paper, or even better, from a larger size (a horse is larger than a dog), and photograph them together. I′d only do this if I was sure the horse was as harmonious as the dog. That would be the third photo. I assure you, I would get maximum points, plus an extra bonus—at least from me :). I hope I don′t have to explain why. Unfortunately, in your case, things are different. Imagine the assignment asks you to do one thing, but you demonstrate that you did something completely different. What grade should I give? I′m still unclear, too. :) The sad truth is that you won′t get a high score here, just an incentive. Just don′t be offended, I told you how it is. It′s an Olympiad. We′re hoping for different models, and besides, there are other judges, who might have a different perspective.

I tried to shape it like a dog by rearranging the folds to change the ears and snout. Unfortunately, I didn′t have time to refold it or take better photos, and I′m not very happy with the result.

I don′t know if this type of modelling can be considered acceptable or excessive for the competition... Anyway, I hope to get through to the next round so I can have fun with the next models.

Here′s mine. I shaped it as I could to obtain a dog′s nose and large flews. I like the proud character of this model with the head lifted :)

And as I hadn′t many choices of paper in the required dimensions, I ended up using a tissue foil.
