@DU Xiyuan, According to Kazakh folklore, Jelmaya (from ″Jel″ meaning ″wind,″ ″demon,″ ″devil,″ and ″Maya″ meaning ″one-humped she-camel″) is a legendary winged she-camel, typically owned by such mythical or legendary historical figures as poet-priests, sorcerers, magicians, shamans, witches, male and female wizards, and the ″mystan kempir″ (a witch-like figure). Legendary personalities like Asan-kaigy, Manas, and Korkyt-ata always rode her. In this context, the etymology of the name of Zoroastrianism′s founder, Zoroaster, interpreted as ″owner of the yellow she-camel,″ becomes quite explicable and points to the antiquity of the concept of the ″she-camel as the primary mount of a priest or prophet.″
